Science Meets Agriculture

Xylvaron Biotech was founded in 2020 by a team of plant geneticists and agricultural scientists who recognized a critical gap in Western Canada: farmers and seed companies needed access to precise, actionable genomic data to make smarter breeding and cultivation decisions. We established our laboratory in Edmonton—the heart of Canada's agricultural region—to bridge science and practice.

Today, we are a team of 14 scientists, agronomists, and laboratory technicians dedicated to crop resistance auditing, seed genetic mapping, and bio-fertilizer research. Our work is grounded in peer-reviewed science and refined through direct collaboration with agricultural partners. We measure success not by publications alone, but by the improvements our clients achieve in yield, resilience, and sustainability.

What Guides Our Science

Four core values shape every project we undertake, every report we deliver, and every partnership we build with Canadian agricultural businesses.

🔬

Scientific Rigor

Every recommendation is backed by validated genomic data and peer-reviewed methodology. We do not speculate; we analyze and verify.

🌾

Agricultural Understanding

Our team lives and works within the Canadian farming context. We understand soil, weather, markets, and the real constraints of operating a modern agricultural business.

📊

Transparency & Clarity

Complex genomic data is valuable only when clearly explained. We provide detailed reports that stakeholders at every level can understand and act upon.

🤝

Partnership & Support

Our role doesn't end with data delivery. We work alongside our clients to interpret findings and adapt strategies as conditions change.

Scientists & Agronomists Behind the Work

14 dedicated researchers, field agronomists, and laboratory specialists, united by a commitment to precision agriculture.

What Our Partners Say

Xylvaron isn't just another lab. They understand farming. Elena and her team have been invaluable partners in our breeding program. The quality of their science and their willingness to explain results clearly sets them apart.

Dr. William Hayes

Breeding Program Director · Western Seed Research Inc., Alberta

We've worked with genomics labs across Canada, and Xylvaron's approach is refreshingly practical. They ask about our farm's conditions, our budget, our timeline—not just technical questions. That partnership mentality matters.

Advancing Agricultural Science Through Genetic Insight

🧬

Genomic Data as a Practical Tool

We believe genetic data should drive real decisions. Every sequencing project connects directly to agronomic outcomes: which seeds to plant, which resistances to develop, which inputs to optimize.

🌱

Canadian Agriculture First

Alberta's climate, soil profiles, and market conditions are unique. We design our research protocols specifically for the Western Canadian agricultural environment—not adapted from foreign models.

⚗️

Laboratory to Field, Seamlessly

Our Edmonton laboratory processes samples with ISO 17025 precision, while our field agronomists ensure results are interpreted in the context of real farming conditions.

📋

Registered & Accountable

Xylvaron Biotech Inc. is registered in Canada (VAT: 815049376 RT 0001), operating from our Edmonton headquarters at 10180 101 St NW, T5J 3S4, Alberta.

01

Sample Collection & Intake

We work with clients to ensure correct sampling protocols. Seed, plant tissue, or soil samples are received and logged under strict chain-of-custody procedures at our Edmonton lab.

02

Genomic Analysis & Sequencing

Samples undergo whole-genome or targeted sequencing, marker analysis, and trait profiling using industry-standard genomic platforms calibrated for Canadian crop varieties.

03

Interpretation & Reporting

Our scientists translate raw data into clear, actionable reports with recommendations contextualized for your specific operation, crop type, and regional conditions.

04

Ongoing Consultation

We follow up with clients as they implement recommendations, adjusting strategies as new data emerges from field performance and seasonal changes.
